MOULIN DE LA ROQUE is a stunning twelve acre gated estate situated in the heart of Provence. Completely secluded, the Moulin is accessible by two private drives shaded by old hovering Plane trees on one side and a beautiful flowing stream on the other. Walk into the quaint village of Noves where you can enjoy the local cafés, open air market, or pick up your daily baguette at a charming patisserie. Or, take one of the paths leading off the main garden and enjoy incredible vistas in over 370 acres (150 hectares) of forest and hiking trials.

THE ESTATE is alive with the essence of the South of France where history is rich and the weather unsurpassed. When you arrive, your senses will immediately be tantalized by the scents of thyme and rosemary which grows wild all around the property as well as the gentle fragrance of lavender so famous to Provence. But the beauty of the dazzling sunlight as it bathes adjacent vineyards, orchards, and olive groves is what tourists and artists from around the world flock to Provence to experience. Important impressionist artists such as Van Gogh, Gauguin, and Cezanne recognized this special atmosphere and moved to Provence to capture it in their paintings.

BARON GUY FALLON, the estate's belgian owner, discovered this unique treasure nine years ago and fell in love with it. He has since tastefully and artfully renovated this 300 year old mill into an enchantingly attractive setting. With a unique setup of individual buildings, it is reminiscent of an old Provencal village (an unusual feature to find on such a traditional estate in Provence).

THE MOULIN now includes four charming cottages around the main garden and four delightful lodgings cleverly integrated into the historic old mill. Each cottage and lodging is unique and has been designed to provide modern convenience with old world charm. Decorated in cheerful simple Provencal style, all are fully equipped with everything you will need to stay a week or a month. Exceptionally large, each cottage and most lodgings even enjoy their own private terrace and barbecue.

AN INSPIRING SETTING for groups, painting workshops, weddings, business meetings, families and couples, the Moulin de la Roque can accommodate almost any requirement. There are two ample meeting/workshop or recreation rooms, a large secluded swimming pool with surrounding terrace and cabana, a petanque court (Provencal ball game),trampolines, and other recreational facilities for children as well as adults.

Location is one of Moulin de la Roque's best features

LOCATION is one of Moulin de la Roque's best features. It is exceptionally well located in the heart of Provence just minutes from its most treasured and beautiful sights, villages, cities, beaches and vineyards. Enjoy visiting fabulous markets in one of the nearby villages of St Remy de Provence or Isle-sur-la-Sorgue where Provence comes alive with flowers, fresh foods, traditional fabrics, tiles, pottery, arts, wine, olive oil and antiques.

SAINT-REMY-DE-PROVENCE, GORDES, ROUSSILLON...experience the charm of these and so many other charming medieval villages, all just a short drive away in the Luberon area (the subject of Peter Mayle's famous book, A Year in Provence ). You definitely will not want to miss the spectacular scenery as you hike in the nearby forests of Luberon, the mountains of Les Alpilles, and the gorgeous canyons of the Ardèche. Also close by are miles of vineyards in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and the Côtes du Rhône.

AVIGNON, ARLES, NIMES, AIX-EN-PROVENCE, MARSEILLE...among the most fascinating of the larger Provencal cities are also easily accessible. Avignon, a charming walled city that was the seat of the Pope during the 14th century, is less than 8 miles. You can be in the ancient Roman cities of Arles or Nîmes, both known for interesting Romanesque history and architecture, in less than 30 minutes. And, only an hour down the road are the cities of Aix-en-Provence or the Mediterranean seaport, Marseille. In July and August you will enjoy the famous annual arts and music festivals in several of these wonderful cities.

COTE D'AZUR (Mediterranean coast) is only 60 miles if the coast is what interests you. There you can enjoy a delicious lunch in the quaint seaside village of Cassis or just relax on the beach. Further up the coast you can reach Cannes and Nice in less than half a day.

ACCESSIBLE, the MOULIN is a 2 ½ hour train ride from Paris on the TGV which leaves from the Charles de Gaulle airport direct to Avignon. If you prefer, you can also fly into Marseille, just 45 miles from Noves or arrive in Nice which is about three hours. There is a smaller airport located in Avignon.

Delighted to share his deep knowledge of Provence, Baron Fallon can help you with any of your requirements whether it is advice on those out of the way sights, transportation, catering, touring, or just assisting you with the planning of your event or vacation. Whatever your needs, you will feel relaxed and welcomed by the warm Provencal people, Baron Fallon, and his staff.
