LE MOULIN DE LA ROQUE, NOVES

(close to Saint-Remy-de-Provence, Avignon and Luberon)

This is a beautiful estate of 5 hectares (13 acres). Very secluded, it is accessible only by two private lanes. One lane is lined with century-old plane trees and florentina cypress, the other is bordered by a lovely flowing river that fed water to the mill for hundreds of years.

IDEALLY LOCATED IN THE HEART OF PROVENCE

One of the primary benefits of staying at the Moulin, in addition to the beauty and charm of the estate, is that we are within 20 to 30 minutes from the most major sites of Provence such as : the regional park of Luberon (Gordes, Roussillon, Bonnieux, Menerbes and Lacoste), the regional park of Alpilles (Saint-Remy-de-Provence, Les Baux-de-Provence, Eygalieres), Avignon and the Palace of the Popes, Chateaufneuf-du-Pape and the Cotes du Rhone wine region, the Pont du Gard, Arles.
We are 45 minutes from Aix en Provence and 1 hour from the charming seaside fishing village of Cassis beside the regional park of Calanque as well as from the regional park of Camargue.

THE TRADITIONAL PROVENCAL VILLAGE of NOVES

The village is just a short walk from the estate.  Noves is not yet flooded with tourists. Here you will find the real Provencal life as you pick up your bread, pastries and groceries from the small local markets each day. In the afternoons you can enjoy incredible sunsets from our cliff top as you take walks through the forest (over 250 hectares) perhaps gathering fresh rosemary and thyme for your dinner.

THE ESSENCE OF PROVENCE

is alive at the Moulin where the history is rich and the weather and charm unsurpassed.  When you arrive, your senses will be immediately tantalized by the scents of thyme and rosemary which grows wild all around the property. Most of all, the beauty of the dazzling sunlight as it bathes adjacent vineyards, orchards and olive groves is what people and the artists from around the world flock to Provence to experience.

WELCOME TO OUR HAMLET

Moulin de la Roque, Noves, Provence - Southern Garden
a quaint smal Provencal village

Le Moulin and its renovation has been a passion for us for over 20 years. We have renovated it with taste, great attention to keeping the history and the orginal charm of the estate. We have created a unique ambiance that reminds us of a quaint Provencal hamlet of another age. It now includes five charming houses around the main garden and three beautiful lodgings cleverly incorporated into the historic old mill. Each property is unique and was designed to combine tradition, charm and modern comfort.rtDecorated in the spirit of Provence, they are spacious and fully equipped so you can stay as long as you want. Each entity, very private from the other, has its own terrace, barbecue and garden furniture in teak.

SPACIOUS PARK

There is a large open grass park bordered by old trees for running and playing, with games for children and adults, pétanque (provencal lawn bowling game), badminton, volleyball, two large trampolines, table tennis , foosball and a beautiful Roman style swimming pool with two cabanas.

FAMILY HOLIDAY, GROUP MEETING, ARTIST WORKSHOP

The flexible structure of the estate makes us a great alternative for groups of any kind whether it be artists workshops, family reunions or any other sort of large group who desires space, privacy, beauty and support. We also have two large rooms which can serve as meeting spaces, art studios, or for meals and receptions for your group.

YOUR HOSTS

We are Guy and Gaby, and we will welcome you as our guests to visit our estate, our home, our haven in Provence. We live in the manor house on the estate and are here to support you in any manner you need whether it be translation, touring, shopping, directions, if you need a doctor, to help you integrate into the French Provencal culture or if you may simply need to borrow a “cup of sugar”. Nothing can ruin a vacation more than if you have a problem in your vacation home.  We have a full time staff (no need to call a plumber and wait a week) who will attend to your needs immediately whenever possible.  This is rare in Provence!

We hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you into our home and to share our Provence and our mill with you for your holidays. Please see the nice comments our previous guests have said about us, our location and our accommodations by going to TRIP ADVISOR (you can click the icon at the bottom or top of each page.)
